Lunchtime Lovelies!
(Recommended)
Pros
This is one of the best fish and chip shops in Leicester purely because the guy that runs it is so friendly, he makes me want to go back again and again - he even gives me a friendly wave when I walk past and don't go in, which is a lot as I work nearby!!
The chips are fab, proper chips the way I remember them from up north. They do mushy peas, which is important and the lunchtime special of fish, chips, peas and a tea or coffee for £3.50 is the most gut busting but truely wonderful experience I've had in a long time.
You can also get a 'poundsworth' - a £1 tray of fried potatoes (it is different from chips, they're bigger!) which are also a delight as well as them offering a host of other chipshop favourites, fried chicken and much more.
Inside, the decor is chipshop like - plain and simple, but you can usually get a seat if you need one and the service is speedy and efficient. If I didn't get fat I would go here once a week or more. As it is I restrain myself and go every month or so, but do try it if you haven't been, their prices are as reasonable as you'll find in Leicester.
Cons
While the high street's being redone there are a lot of builders about so you can wait a little longer than normal at lunch time, but that's all I have to say that's bad about it.
