best supermarket (Recommended)

Pros ive found asda to be the best supermarket out there. the value range is very cheap, with some excellent products. i love how you can get almost anything you want there - you could almost furnish a house from everything they sell! :)

Cons not always stock in, cages often left in the middle of the aisle, boxes of products in the middle of the floor etc, instead of being pushed to the side. some staff can be rather unhelpful, but luckily this is a minority

If You Want Bargains Asda Is The Place To Go (Recommended)

Pros In my opinion ASDA is easily the best supermarket out there. Cheap would be an understatement for some of the prices they have. In over 5 years of shopping at ASDA I can safely say that it is the best supermarket in terms of value. A sublime place to shop!

Cons Absolutely no cons whatsoever.

Quality Basics, Quality Prices (Recommended)

Pros I visited Asda this morning in the early hours (5am - it's early for me...!) and was pleasantly surprised by how empty the carpark was. Usually when I get there it's hussle and bustle so this was a massive plus for me.

Most of the items that I was looking for were easily found however not all were where they were supposed to be.

Some items are priced amazingly, especially the value items. Batter for 9p, jelly for 8p, bread for 20p, you could make a meal including pudding for a family for less than a couple of pounds on the value range.

The value range doesn't always mean that taste is compromised - a lot of smartprice items are tasty!

Cons The staff were pleasant enough though a lot were huddled round together talking in the middle of the aisles and blocking the way to products. Didn't really get the opinion that the one I spoke to the most was that bothered about what I was trying to tell her. (The dunkers boxes were all soaked through in the cabinet)

Going early or late means that a lot of the products are not available/stocked at that time and sometimes they are reluctant to go and look.

Going early or late also means that the expiry dates are not amazing.

Frequent changing around of the stocks makes shopping take forever whilst everything is found - meaning some aren't.

It's FAR too hot. Always, no matter what season/temperature it is outside - they are ALWAYS too hot.

We all love to shop as Asda (Recommended)

Pros Cheap, very cheap. You can get some well known brands for dirt cheap. Normally quite clean and tidy, our local one has a restaurant.

Cons Not local, we don't have one near us.

'Plum' Home Shopping (Recommended)

Pros The home shopping service from this store is very good - the drivers are very helpful, and the substitutions are what you might pick yourself if you were doing the shopping yourself. The frozen products are all still frozen, and the delicate items like eggs are clearly labelled. Any problems I've had have been dealt with promptly and with courtesy.

Cons The only problem I have with the service is the sheer amount of bags they use!! They take them back, but they apparently have to separate things according to department, and so you might get a toothbrush being the sole occupant of a bag.

Asda (Recommended)

Pros I only ever shop at Asda, the best of the big three supermarkets.

This store is brilliant, it has everything you ever need in one store and it is really easy to find everything you need.

Everything in the store is set out so that you can find it and if you ever need anything like help or need to ask where a product is their friendly staff are always around to give you a hand.

Cons The queues can be massive on certain days, and are exceptionally long on days close to Christmas or Easter.

The car park ,although it may look big to the eye fills up really quick and sometimes you find yourself parking at the furthest point from the store.

My fave ASDA (Recommended)

Pros This is a BIG ASDA and is my favorite supermarket locally. They always have what I want in stock, the queues are usually short except on a sunday. The staff take coupons without hassle and are quik to help.

Cons The parking can be a bit bad sometimes.
