Atrocious Service From A Once Good Company (Not Recommended)


Pros I'm struggling to find anything good to say - a year ago I'd be singing their praises but please see below for the reasons I'm not

Cons If you had asked me to write this a year ago I'd be telling a different story to the one I am now. Back then we couldn't fault them, the uptime was second to none, unlimited bandwith, decent speeds, great tech help - and then they were bought out by Tiscali and it went downhill from there on in.

Constantly being chopped off for no good reason forcing waits to get back onto the internet, wireless would stop working without warning/cause, massive downtimes because Pipex themselves had gone down - and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, the prices were good but to put it plainly, you were paying for time you weren't using and a service they were not providing. The tech help had gone, No customers had been informed by Pipex that they'd been bought out (we only found out when doing a speed check when we were finding it crawling one night when paying for up to 8mb and recieving much less than 1mb - and that was the norm!)

There are much better deals out there - Sky and o2 for one. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Good solid network - appauling Customer Service (Not Recommended)


Pros Pipex was origonally one of the main stay internet provider companies. Arguably it still is and is now joined in with Tisceli. Provided a rock solid ISP which never seemed to go down and always seemed to maintain a constant speed, no matter what the time of day or night was. If you have a technical problem then their helpline is very useful. Was an 'apparent' english call centre and the technicians took me through things step by step to solve the problem. So 10/10 for that aspect.

Cons Anything to do with finacial aspects and Customer Services is appauling. Just look at some of the internet forums to see what I mean.

Had a contract for 18 months with them and in all that time they couldn't set up a direct debit on my account, despite my repeated requests and 3 written letters from them to say that they had done it. Finally 2 weeks after I cancelled, they set up a direct debit and took the first payment. Now 7 months later and I'm still trying to get the money back. Will never use them again.
