Western fashion history all under one roof

Pros
I just LOVE The Museum of Costume. I have lost count of how many times I have visited.
1) The collections are incredible. Some of the dresses from the 18th and 19th centuries are just so lovely and it's amazing to think that a woman once wore them. It's also fabulous seeing some of the 20th century clothes that our parents and grandparents must have worn. They also keep collections of current designer fashion which is brilliant because you can see the evolution of fashion. It's also the only opportunity peasants like me have to see designer clothes close up! There are also display cabinets full of gloves, bags, jewellery and other accessories.
2) I love the way the museum is laid out. It's very attractive and you can walk round at your own pace. There aren't staff and security guards lurking around every corner which makes this a more relaxing day out.
3) They have special exhibitions on several times a year. This are often quite large. They are always well laid out and interesting.
4) The Museum of Costume is located in the Assembly Rooms and you can look around those as well. You will have seen them in a Jane Austen costume drama, but it is lovely seeing them in real life.
5) The gift shop is small, but well stocked and the book selection is worth perusing.
Cons
None. It's £7.00 admission, but you can buy a combined admission ticket if you want to visit the Roman Baths as well.
