good local branch (Recommended)

Pros I held a ISA account for a few years with the Prinicapilty and often used this branch. I found the staff very helpful there and there were always pentlyof cashiers available to ensure no-body would wait too long to be served. It had a friendly local feel to it, unlike the one in town in which I found some of staff to to be unfriendly and the queues a lot worse.

Cons None.

I’ve banked with Principality for years but I was annoyed at their attitude to account verification when I made a withdrawal recently. I opened the account when I was younger, so inevitably the signature on my passbook is different to the signature I use nowadays. The amount of money I was withdrawing was small, but understandably the cashier pointed out the signatures did not match. I gave her my driving licence (with signature on!) and a wage slip to confirm my identity but she insisted that the signatures needed to match. I told her I couldn’t do a signature like a ten-year-old, so she put my book under the light and told me to write it like that! No idea why Principality staff think copying a signature when shown is more reliable than a photo ID with signature to confirm identity!
