A hidden gem but not just for locals (Recommended)

Pros Emile's has been here for years, but by his enthusiasm and bonhomie is undimmed.

The eating rooms are a bit jumbled, and downstairs is a bit basic, but not cramped - although you will meet waiting staff on the stairs.

The food is always fresh - no menus, just blackboards - and inventive, with healthy sized portions and reasonably priced. The recipe works and they've never really felt the need to tinker too much with it - and long may they keep their fingers off it.

Cons It's a little off the beaten track - you need to know it's there, you almost certainly wouldn't ordinarily be walking passed it - but definitely worth the trip.
