Eat out for less (Recommended)

Pros I first cottoned on to toptable though a link from the transport for london site, which was offering 50% off certain restaurants on production of an oystercard, if booked through this site. It was a revelation to be directed here and to realise anyone could join and earn points just for booking a table.

The deals are generous, and offered on a range of restaurants to suit most occasions and budgets. I've dined in a couple of places that otherwise would have been out of reach.

The feedback from other reviewers is useful, if a little confusing at times to see how wildly differently people view or experience the same places!

All in all a valuable resource and a good way to source special dining offers.

Cons As the number of venues is fairly small compared with the overall number of places to eat, it does give an unfair advantage to those places that have signed up.

The site can be frustrating to navigate at times, and cant deal with certain combinations of searches, such as narrowing down a postcode, special offer and eg al fresco dining (I opted for Thai Corner Cafe instead based on previous experience, even though it wasnt listed).

Simple dinner reservation tool - could have been better (Recommended)

Pros Love to nose around the site for their special offers..

Their large restaurant review base is a good eating out guide

Cons Very unhelpful customer service.

I needed to change table booking time for a booking I have made through top table but after waiting on helpline for a good 5 minutes, was then told to call the resturant directly to change the booking. What's the point?

Great idea for finding new places to eat! (Recommended)

Pros I usually use when I fancy trying something new but would rather know I am on to something good before I get in there. Also use for offers and discounts.

Cons Not many entries for my hometown.

Broadened my dining horizons! (Recommended)

Pros I found this website extremely useful when searching for bnew places to dine out in London. Instead of sticking to chain store horrors, I have found som real gems through the site, including the Aquarium at St Katherine's Dock which was a revelation. They give a wide range of information such as menus, seating plans, ambience and also provide special offers through booking on the site. This is great as it means I may take a risk on an unkown restaurant on the strength of the offer. It is easy to use and navigate, and I particularly the 360 views of the restaurant.

Cons Sometimes, restaurants claim to not know about the offer you have booked through Top Table. This is not necessarily their fault, but something they should be wary of.

Great for finding hidden gems! (Recommended)

Pros I love that you can see a 360 degree view of the interior...when planning a big dinner and wanting to find a nice venue with spirit, this is essential.
Gives a great outline of what to expect on the menu and the prices.
You will always find a little place that you never knew about and will come to love.
A lot of the reviews are really helpful.
Great offers and discounts available

Cons On one occassion I was disappointed with a well reviewed restaurant but this was only on one occasion.

Top Table Review (Recommended)

Pros I think Top Table is extremely easy to use. I have found some really nice restaurants on the site. I have food allergies so its nice to look through local restaurants and see which ones are more likely to cater for me.

When we went away for our honeymoon to Cornwall, we wanted to go out to a fancy restaurant, found some on top table and the one we went to was great.

Cons I haven't had any negative experiences.

TopTable (Recommended)

Pros Since joining TopTable I've found some great new restaurants and had some great deals.

They offer 50% off total food bills and great 3 courses and a drink offers, which are all easy to find as you can search for 'special offers only' by location.

The site is easy to use and you can search by location, deals, type of restaurant, cuisine, cheap eats....

The site offers free meals when you book a certain amount of restaurants and there is a current deal of eat out twice in August, get a free meal in September.

Easy to cancel and almost always guaranteed a table, even at late notice.

Cons None given.

Useful service (Recommended)

Pros Is easy to use and you can earn points that can be converted to free dinners. Before doing a reservation you can read the other users reviews and know a little more about the restaurant you want to go. The site have some special offers, sometimes of 50% off of the restaurant bill so you can save some money.

Cons Some restaurants can not be booked via toptable.
You need to booked using toptable a lot of times before you can earn a free meal for two but it worth the wait.
