Fish and wood (Recommended)

Pros Situated in a renovated old building by the Kennet, this more recent Loch Fyne has a kind of chalet feel about it due to the wooden floors and central wooden staircase leading to the upper two levels.

The standard menu is the same as the London branches with their great range of fish and shellfish as well as a very small list of alternatives for meat or vegetarian people dragged here by their fish-loving friends. Multiple fish specials are also on offer.

The service was quick when we went and the food was excellent. I had the fish pie on this visit which was very nice and very hot.

Cons A little out of the way if you're walking from town, though that can be a blessing with the drunken brawling around the bars of Reading in the evenings.
