Quintessential 1930s Quaintness for the sweet toothed ones
(Recommended)
Pros
Name a sweet, any sweet. They'll have it. And if they don't, they'll get it! They stock everything you could remember as a kid.
The decor, the feel, the look, the smell, the sounds, the staff - all seem totally authentic of ye olde Englishe sweetshope. From the old pre-war music, to the staff outfits and Mr Greenwoods delicately styled pencil moustache, there is an evident attention to detail.
They have rows and rows of jars lined up and serve a good range of gift options etc, like tins and boxes of chocolate, goody bags and particularly good seasonal packages around Easter/Christmas etc.
It's run by Miss Hope & Mr Greenwood, who I understand have extended beyond this little Dulwich boutique to build quite the novel reputation as ''purveyors of splendid confectionery''
Cons
Can be a little pricey for what is essentially a bunch of penny sweets, but it does feel like something of an experience at the same time. And as mentioned above, some of these sweets will be serious old time childhood memories that you won't get anywhere else.
