Chongs At Loughton

Pros Everyone in Loughton has been here at sometime or another. I have been here twice. The first time was with a couple of friends on a quiet midweek. The food was fresh, hot, well cooked and arrived really quickly. The offer that they run (all you can eat for about £15) cant be beaten in price. The beauty of this offer is that it means that you can try dishes that you wouldnt normally try when ordering from your local take away. It also means that a meal out with friends doesnt have to be expensive. The second time i came here was for a birthday meal with 10 people. The food again was good, not as hot and didnt seem as nice as before. For the price its not bad but see below for a few more issues.

Cons On my second visit, after the starters were done we moved onto main courses and one of my friends found a hair in her food. Needless to say she was not happy and the rest of us were peering cautiously into our dishes. When we told the manager about this, he shrugged, said ok, removed the offending dish and simply replaced it. There seemed to be no embarassment about this and there was certainly no apology. Aside from this it was ok, no better no worse.
